About.

I am a self described light bright, one the lightest Black delegates you can find. It’s important to note this as colorism is both rampant in society and not everyone is familiar with the color range that is the African Diaspora. I was born and raised in Portland OR, I am a community maverick who has been working locally for 15+ years. I specialize in marketing strategies and fundraising through an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens. My education background and degrees are in spatial art and Black history. I actively and openly am always working on further decolonizing myself, my work, and am actively relearning cultural practices lost to colonization. A lot of my work includes activism around cannabis, before launching EGC I was working on creating a cannabis topical line and hosting private cannabis events including the elusive Hiiiiiii Tea women and femme networking event.

I have brought my skills to such organizations such as Steps PDX, American Cancer Society, and Race Talks. I am currently the ED of Equitable Giving Circle, an economic focused nonprofit I co-founded. This organization was born out of a desire to create a model of resource distribution that is not rooted in white supremacy and transactional giving. I am deeply passionate about mutual aid and giving with no strings attached.

I also knows that to be truly successful, an organization must be led by the people who are in community with the people being served. My bachelors degree is in African American history and, equally as important, my lived experience coming from a working class, interracial family in North Portland to going to college and working in New Orleans has informed the full range of my work. When I am not leading revolutions, I am a full time solo momma and teacher to my teenage son Hobbs. I find relaxation in traveling, cannabis of all forms, and gardening.
